Hannah Smith

Hannah graduated from Hartpury University in 2015 and joined Vale Vets and Referrals as a registered veterinary nurse. Previously Hannah had worked with the team during her student nurse training doing some weekend work.  

During her 10 years with us, Hannah has progressed from first opinion to referral nursing. She enjoyed the variety in her role, from running her dedicated nursing clinics in 1st opinion to working as a referral nurse monitoring advanced anaesthesia cases within our surgery and medicine departments. 

In 2020, Hannah completed her Nurses Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care, an area which she loves due to its fast pace and the intensive nursing skills that are required when caring for these patients.  

Hannah is a clinical coach to the student veterinary nurses, supporting them through their training programme. She is also responsible for facilitating work experience and veterinary student placements, for students to gain technical skills and experience.  
 
Hannah has two Ferrets called Brain and Barney and a Sprocker called Blake. When not at work, Hannah enjoys baking and swimming to relax. She also travels in her converted campervan with her husband and Blake, exploring new areas to paddleboard and walk.
