Twisted stomach...

Posted: 28th September 2018

Recently we had two cases of GDV (Gastric Dilation and Volvulus) or more commonly referred to as gastric torsion or bloat. This is an uncommon condition so we were extremely surprised to see these two handsome boys both brought in on the same evening. Zoltan and Ollie required emergency surgery and we are delighted to say that they are both recovering fantastically well. These photos were taken just 36 hours after surgery.

We have an amazing team here at Vale Vets Dursley, that helped to make these boys better. During the operation and weekend, three vets, five veterinary nurses, a hospital assistant and three receptionists were all involved in Zoltan’s and Ollie’s care, whilst keeping the Vale 24-hour animal hospital running efficiently and smoothly.

We are extremely proud of our team here at Vale Vets, Dursley and couldn’t do the wonderful job we do without every single team member.

We realise that our car park can be extremely busy sometimes due to our large number of veterinary team members working away behind the scenes and we appreciate your patience during busy periods.
