Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month

Posted: 29th May 2017

Rebecca Evans is a second year nurse student due to qualify in September & works in practice full time while attending college one day per week.

“I would recommend the apprenticeship training scheme to anyone that is wanting to become a veterinary nurse as this allows all the knowledge that I am gaining at college to be implemented in practice, it allows me to experience a variety of medical and surgical cases that I am then able to discuss with my college friends & tutors. The scheme consists of a day at college, an online training log, assignments & exams. I also have a clinical coach that guides and supports me through my training as well as the Nurse & Vet team who are always there when I need advice & guidance.

I have really enjoyed my time at college and I am going to be forever thankful to Vale Vets for allowing me to complete my training and fulfill my dream. Being a veterinary nurse is all that I have ever wanted to be, growing up I have had a large range of animals & currently have two beautiful Westies, two rabbits & a rather large cat”.
