Over the past few years, we have seen a large increase in the number of both dogs & cats with ticks on them. Occasionally, ticks will carry a bacterial disease called Lyme's disease, which can make your pet very sick.
It is essential therefore to check your pet regularly, & to remove any ticks that are found promptly. Special tick hooks can be purchased to do this. It is very important that the tick is removed in one piece; if removed incorrectly, the tick mouth parts may be left in your pet's skin, & this can cause a localised reaction.
The best way to deal with ticks is to prevent them attaching to your pet in the first place. Several different products are now available which repel ticks and prevent attachment. In April we are offering half price Seresto Flea & Tick Collars.
